BEAUTIFICATION OF FOUNDER FATHER’S STATUE AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE COLONY AND NAMING OF TWO CHOWKS IN THE COLONY

The colony was a dream and the vision of Late Mancherji E.Joshi, the Founder Father of our Colony who toiled selflessly to fulfill this dream and create an oasis for us residents to live in. In death he stands guard at the entrance of the Colony, a reminder to us all that

“Heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight
For they while their companions slept
Were toiling upwards in the night.”

Indeed over 10,000 Zorastrians are reaping the fruits of one man’s labour. One man’s vision - The Dadar Parsee Colony! Let each of us residents never forget what we owe to this great Visionary and let us vow to cherish it for the generations yet to come!

Around the statue is a beautiful small garden maintained by Mr. & Mrs. Noshir Dhabbar of Sun-Up Botanics. We thank them for their years of support in doing so.

In November 2008 the Trust sought the permission of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation and with the help of the Municipal Corporator and the Municipal Commissioner F/N ward two Chowks were named after two stalwarts who have added to the luster of the colony soil.

One Chowk at the entrance of the Colony was rightly named the Mancherji E. Joshi Chowk in memory of its Founder Father. The junction of Khareghat Road and Jame Jamshed Road was named the Bai Bapaimai Dalal Chowk in memory of the great Social Worker Bapaimai Farmaroze Dalal the inovater of the “One – Anna – Fund.” Our gratitude to Mr. Aspi Vasania and Mrs. Zarine Engineer for their tenacity in seeing this through.
